In June 2026, we traded our familiar Canadian skies for the wild winds and glowing sands of Tinos, Greece. This trip was meant to be a slow, sensory escape: long breakfasts, cold seas, glowing beaches, and an island that still feels raw and real. We traveled as a family, two adults and one very opinionated toddler, during the second week of June. We had planned to start the journey in the most efficient way possible, with the 7:40 a.m. ferry from Rafina to Tinos. On paper, it was a perfect plan: arrive early, catch the ferry, reach the island with plenty of time to settle in and ease into vacation mode. In reality, traveling with a toddler has its own rhythm. No matter how well you plan, everything simply takes longer than you expect.
